New Feature Alert -- Toronto Neighbourhood Profiles

If you’ve ever visited the TorontoRealEstateBoard.com, you might have noticed on its homepage under the Quick Search panel, an option called Neighbourhood Info. Contained within are the various neighbourhoods that constitute the city of Toronto and surrounding areas, such as Scarborough to the east, and spanning all the way to Etobicoke in the west. What are these neighbourhoods? Well simply put, they are profiles on the neighbourhoods themselves; containing a detailed history of the area, plus an overview of how it is today, inclusive with a map of its boundaries. This resource provides valuable information to someone wanting to have a greater sense of the area they are considering purchasing a property in.

Now how does this help you?

Well… now you can add them as content to your website! How does that work? Rather easily, I might add. Instead of having to recreate the content from scratch, you can now setup Module Pages and select the respective neighbourhood profile to highlight from our Content Library. In fact, every agent can set up to 12 Neighbourhood Profiles. How does one go about getting this on their website? Follow along!

For starters, lets breakdown all the elements you’ll need:

1.) A Category to host the profiles in, ex. “Neighbourhood Profiles,” as used on my example site.
2.) Decided upon the neighbourhoods to use; in my case, I selected 4 to highlight – The Annex, Allenby, the Beaches and Downtown. Remember you can select up to 12 as per TREB’s contractual obligation on how many profiles can be used per agent. A special thanks to the author, Mr. Dunkelman.
3.) The Website Editor to create the category, and module pages.

Really – only 3 elements to get these neighbourhood profiles added to my website? Yes! It is that simple.

Now let’s get into the walkthrough…

  1. Open the Website Editor
  2. Click Category > New Category > Name the Category, ex. Neighbourhood Profiles > Click Create
  3. Click Page > New Module Page > Name the Page, ex. The Annex > Select the Category, Neighbourhood Profiles > Select the Module Category, Content Library > Select the Module, Syndicated Article > Enter a Friendly Name, ex. the-annex-neighbourhood-profile > Leave the other settings as per the defaults > Click Create
  4. Once on the newly created page, use the Select Content menus to select Toronto Neighbourhoods and then use the second menu to select the actual neighbourhood, ex. Annex
  5. Click Save Options
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 for each new profile.

Presto! You are done! View my example site -- http://www.rwlblog.com/
