Quick Tip: Adding a Calendar to Your Website

Most of our clients are actively using the calendar feature in the backend of their account, without realizing it could be added to their website for the public’s view as well! Let’s say you are creating a neighbourhood profile, it would be useful to have a calendar of community events in that area, or if you are part of a non-profit organization and would like to streamline upcoming events. If a brokerage that holds real estate career nights, this would be an ideal tool to showcase their availability. The bottom line is that your website is a communication channel, so take advantage of all available features to share valuable information with your target audience.

Take a look at the screenshot below of the training schedule we have on our Real Web Academy training website. Notice how we colour coordinate different training sessions and have a legend along the top. The calendar can also be viewed in week, month, or agenda mode.

To add a calendar to your website, simply start adding events into the backend of your account (Schedule > New Event) and set the ‘Privacy’ level to ‘Public’. Anything marked as ‘Private’ will not be displayed on your website. The next step is to open your website editor (Website > Open Website Editor), go to the page where you want to display the calendar, and add the calendar (Add Content > Calendar). You can select what default view you would like: week, month, or agenda.
